STATUS: A common species. In the Indonesian part of New Guinea only found in the western part.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: Waigeo Island: Camp Nok; New Guinea: Arfak, Demaisi, Fakfak (Kapaur), Ninay Valley, Nomnagihé, Wangaar. Details in gazetteer.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Moluccas (ssp. monychata).
