Dioscore bicolor (Warren, 1896)


Distribution

 

 

 

 

 

STATUS: Widely distributed in New Guinea. A common species which may be confused with Dioscore fulgurata and D. homoeotes. However, bicolor can easily be distinguished by the conspicuous discal spots on both wings while in fulgurata and homoeotes these are obsolete.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: Waigeo Island: Camp Nok; New Guinea: Ampas, Base Camp (Utakwa River), Borme, Canoe Camp (Utakwa River), Eilanden River, Fakfak, Mt. Goliath, Nomnagihé, Upper Setekwa River, Sinimburu, Uskwar, Wambes, Wembi. Details in gazetteer.
