Distribution

 

 

 

 

STATUS: A common species, the males are easily distinguished by the kidney shaped mark on the forewing which is filled with orange, females are plain coloured but at the wing base on the costa with a reddish brown streak which lacks in rufopunctata.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: Waigeo Island: Camp Nok; Supiori Island: Nansfori; New Guinea: Abmisibil, Affi, Ampas, Bivak 42 (Sibil Valley), Canoe Camp (Utakwa River), Cyclops Mts., Fakfak, Ifar, Mt. Kunupi, Landikma, Langda, Lelambo, Mabilabol (Ok Sibil), Mokwam, Ninay Valley, Nomnagihé, Prafi, Upper Setekwa River, Sinimburu, Utakwa River, Walmak, Wambes. Details in gazetteer.
