Distribution

 

 

 

STATUS: A common species in Papua. Distinguished from the similar aruus by the narrower blue band on the hindwing with unsharp edges and the reduced blue pattern near the tail. The blue is darker than in aruus.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: Salawati Island; New Guinea: Ampas, Arfak Coast, Arso, Ati Ati Onin, Base Camp (Utakwa River), Dorey bay, Eilanden River, Etna Bay, Fakfak, Foja Mountains, Geelvink Bay, Humboldt Bay, Ifar, Jayapura, Kapaur (Fakfak), Katem (Star Mts.), Manokwari, Mokwam, McCluer Gulf, Pionierbivak, Prauwenbivak, Mt. Siwi, Snow Mountains, Sorong, Uskwar, Upper Setakwa River, Utakwa River, Wandammen Peninsula, Windesi. Details in gazetteer.
