Distribution

 

 

 

STATUS: Endemic to the island New Guinea. Locally not rare. Seems to prefer moderate mountainous areas. The species is flying at daytime in the sun in a slow flight, like a bumble bee.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: New Guinea: Affi, Bidai, Bobairo, Danama (Ilugwa), Dusumo (Abenaho), Enarotali, Hitigima (Baliem Valley), Kumuluk-Wolo, Mabilabol, Moanemani, Paniai, Pass Valley, Syoubri (Arfak), Tangma-Syokosimo, Walmak, Wamena. Details in gazetteer.
