STATUS: Endemic in New Guinea. The darkest Stauropus species from New Guinea.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: New Guinea: Ampas, Araucaria Camp, Bewani Mts., Mamowe, Mapia, Pass Valley, Tekai, Uskwar. Details in gazetteer.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Papua New Guinea.
