Distribution

 

 

STATUS: A rare species in Papua, with at least three subspecies: most abundant is ssp. coalescens from Misool Island and Sorong, ssp. fallax from Waigeo, ssp. wollastoni from the lowland slopes of the Snow Mountains and ssp. adriaansei from South New Guinea, but the status of the last one is uncertain.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: Waigeo Island, Misool Island; New Guinea: Base Camp (Utakwa River), Merauke (?), Mimika, Sorong. Details in gazetteer.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Watubela Island, Solomon Islands.
