Similar species

The four known Chrysoscota species occuring in Papua Indonesia are rather easy to distinguish. To make it more easy the right wings of all four species are depicted to compare. Notice the black thorax of albomaculata, while in the other species the head and collar are pale yellow.

STATUS: The species is found in New Guinea. Seems to prefer mountainous areas.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: New Guinea: Foja Mts. (Sarmi District), Mabilabol (Star Mts.), Mokwam, Utakwa River, Walmak (Nipsan). Details in gazetteer.
