Distribution

 

 

 

 

 

STATUS: A rare species, widely distributed in New Guinea with three subspecies which may be no more than geographical forms. The few specimens available show a rather wide range of variation in colour and extension of the dark pattern.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: Misool Island (ssp. latiplaga): Fakal; New Guinea (ssp. grandis): Nomnagihé; (ssp. kaporana): Kapaur (Fakfak). Details in gazetteer.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: (ssp. grandis):Papua New Guinea.
