Distribution

 

 

 

 

 

STATUS: A rare species, widely distributed in New Guinea. The females very much resemble those from Callhistia grandis. The forewings of leucomelas females are slightly narrower than those of grandis and the yellow pattern on the hindwing is in leucomelas more oblique and narrow than in grandis. The last abdominal segment of females of leucomelas is black, while in grandis it is yellow.
