STATUS: A rare species, represented by two subspecies in Papua.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: ssp. bosnikiana: Biak Island: Bosnik, Numfor Island; ssp. alcestis: New Guinea: Mimika, Sorong, Timika. Details in gazetteer.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Aru Islands, Gebe Island.
