Distribution

 

 

 

 

STATUS: A widely distributed species of which two subspecies represent Papua. Subspecies phryxus is common but ssp. anthelius is rare.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: ssp. anthelius: Misool Island; ssp. phryxus: Waigeo Island; Batanta Island; Numfor Island; Supiori Island; Biak Island; Japen Island; New Guinea: Goras, Jayapura, Mamberamo Raja, Manokwari, Mappi, Mimika, Sarmi, Sorong, Timika, Wandammen Peninsula. Details in gazetteer.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Papua New Guinea.
