STATUS: A rare species. The status of despoena is not certain. If it is conspecific with epirus it definitely is a synonym of ssp. epirus and not a separate subspecies.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: Waigeo Island; Mioswaar Island; Biak Island; New Guinea: Jayapura. Details in gazetteer.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Papua New Guinea.
