STATUS: A rare species. Two subspecies represented in Papua.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: ssp. harterti: New Guinea: Cyclops Mountains, Humboldt Bay, Jayapura, Sarmi, Senopi, Snow Mountains, Star Mountains; ssp. melanoma: Japen Island; Biak Island; New Guinea: Windesi. Details in gazetteer.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Papua New Guinea.
