Distribution

 

 

 

 

STATUS: A rare species. Represented in Papua by two subspecies. Philiris refusa aequalis differs from the nominate race in having wider dark borders on the underside of the wings.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: New Guinea: ssp. refusa: Humboldt Bay to Cenderawasih Bay along the coast (not marked in the map); ssp. aequalis: Arfak Mountains, Fakfak, Snow Mountains, Wandammen. Details in gazetteer.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Papua New Guinea.
