Distribution
STATUS: A rather rare species, restricted to New Guinea. The females are seldom seen and are similar to those from Papilio fuscus, with the difference that the outer margin of the white patch on the hindwing in albinus is strongly dentated, while in fuscus this is undulated. No less than five subspecies are recognized in Papua, but the differences are so subtile, that we do not differentiate these here to avoid unnecessary confusion.
PAPUA LOCALITIES: Salawati Island; Batanta Island; Yapen Island: Ambaidiru, Kosiwo ; New Guinea: Abepura, Fakfak, Jayapura, Lereh, Manokwari, Nabire, Sentani, Sorong, Waena, Warmare. Details in gazetteer.
EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Papua New Guinea.
